This in turn has created a sense of bitterness and demoralization among them. The sense of injustice and of being ignored neglected and sometimes snubbed by their Iraqi compatriots, whether Arabs or Kurds, has greatly contributed to a feeling of helplessness and hopelessness as well as a sense of crisis.

Being destroyed as backbone of the middle class of Iraqi society means the loss of the economic power they enjoyed earlier.
