Relics from the first millennium BC discovery, in Dohuk

Hassan Ahmed, Director of Antiquities in the governorate of Dohuk,…

said the specialized people in exploration discovered rare relics in Shandokha site in the eastern city of Dohuk belong to the first millennium BC.
He also explained that the excavations at the site were conducted a year ago, pointing out that the discovered ruins are of large sculptures and ancient writings.
The Director of the Department of Antiquities mentioned  that  the studies on the discovered relics are  going on  in addition to continuing exploration at the site of Shandokha.
The Department of Antiquities in Dohuk oversees three other projects for exploration in the districts of Aqrah and Smeal and others within the governorate of Dohuk.
