Shafaq News / An independent Iraqi group demanded on Thursday, the construction of a statue for the late Kurdish leader Mullah Mustafa Barzani, in a square in Baghdad, noting that this step will contribute to unification of the Kurdish and Arab ranks to forget past differences.
"We call on the government and the Municipality of Baghdad to construct the statue in a square in Baghdad, the late leader of Kurdistan Mullah Mustafa Barzani, or name a street in his name," pointing out that "this matter will contribute to enhancing unity, and inspired by the march of militant Barzani and forget all past differences. " The "supporters of the change" group said in a statement "Shafaq News" received a copy of .Mullah Mustafa Barzani (1903 - 1979),is the spiritual leader of the Kurds, and the symbol of their struggle in the modern era, and the commander of the Kurdish revolutionary movement to demand for national rights."The leader Mulla Mustafa Barzani, has gained an international reputation through his revolutionary liberation march for more than fifty years, and the Iraqi memory still retain the lessons embodied in the long historical process." The statement added .
The Egyptian director Ali Badrakhan is currently working to produce a film about the life of the late Kurdish leader Mustafa Barzani, aiming at showing the struggle of the Kurdish people and the sacrifices for freedom, and to acquaint the world with Barzani and the Kurdish people.
