“Elements of ISIS blew up Sayeda Zeinab shrine and executed ten of Shia Kurds in the district , which is inhabited by a majority of the Kurdish Yazidis,” The source told “Shafaq News”.
He added that “ the district is witnessing widespread exodus to escape from fighting and fear of militants who consider Yazidis as "infidels" and regard it as permissible to kill them”.
Peshmarga Kurdish forces are engaged in fierce battles with ISIS west of Mosul city as reports are conflicting on the control of Islamist militants on Zammar town.
Peshmerga have deployed in the disputed areas, including Sinjar and Zammar after the defection of the Iraqi army last month in front of the creep of ISIS on the north and west of the country.
The progress made by the terrorists ISIS in areas under the control of Kurdish forces is the first of its kind after Peshmerga succeeded in stopping the crept over the past few weeks.
